Sound familiar?

“The blue one. No, the other blue one.”

Everyone who has ever helped someone with a website, an app or a form knows the dance. The person knows something is wrong, but not what to call it. The helper can fix it, but can't see it. In between: cropped screenshots, vague words and days of back-and-forth.

The button on the page doesn't work 😕
Which page? Which button?
The blue one. I sent a screenshot?
We have eleven blue buttons.
…the one that does nothing.
…three days later: still can't reproduce it.
With FixPinOne box around the broken spot, one note, one link. The helper sees exactly what you see.

It cleans up after itself.

When the time is up, the report and its screenshot are deleted. You can also delete it any time. No account to close, nothing left behind.

◎

Point, don't describe

Click or drag a box. Each spot is numbered, and the extension also records which page element it is on.

With the extension: JavaScript errors, failed requests and console warnings from the moment you click.

⏳

Links that expire

1, 7 or 30 days, then the report and screenshot are deleted. Delete earlier with one button.

⚿

Optional passcode

Ask for a passcode before the report opens. Only a one-way hash is stored.

An installable app

Phone, tablet or computer. Add it to your home screen and share screenshots straight to it.

Copy the details

One button turns the report into plain text for an email or ticket: page, screen, browser, spots, errors.

Why FixPin exists

It began inside Fixpass, a WordPress plugin with one feature people loved most: Spotlight, the button that lets you point at the broken part of a page. Then people asked, reasonably: “Can I use that on a site that isn't WordPress?” So Spotlight got its own home.
